The Society of Glass Technology (SGT) has revealed the full programme for the 19^th Furnace Solutions Conference.

The event will take place on 4^th and 5^th June at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens, UK.

Attracting attendees from around the world, the conference will again highlight important issues and opportunities for the glass industry, as well as showcasing best practices and technologies.

This year, the conference will start on the afternoon of the 3^rd of June at the World of Glass Museum with a training session.

In the session, glass industry consultant Neil Simpson will give a talk on the use of oxygen in glass furnaces.

This will be followed by the Mellor Memorial Lecture, ‘Electricity in Glass Production’, given by Andy Reynolds, Business Development Director at Fives.

The training session is free to those who have booked for the conference.

The lecture is a free event, and drinks will be available afterwards.

The two-day Furnace Solutions conference will include presentations from glass produces, industry experts and suppliers.

A tour of the, now operational, Glass Futures facilities, and the Geoff Evans Dinner will take place on the Wednesday evening.

The conference will finish on the Thursday afternoon with the presentation of the Michael Garvey award for the best paper.
